Dave, the owner, still sticks with his bankrupt policy of being closed days on Monday and Tuesday. This seems to turn off drop-in customers (not sure when the place is open), dancers (can't work every day to support their kids and/or habits), and regulars (Mondays and Tuesdays are best for many who like the smaller crowds and looser attitudes of early weekdays, and tend to spend more as a result). Also, he spent a lot refurbishing the back bar and then never opens it. However, Joe the daytime manager/bartender is working within Dave's parameters to rebuild the daytime business. He has recruited some really beautiful women, treats service men/women like royalty, and keeps the good feelings flowing - I'm impressed, and Im pretty jaded when it comes to The Block.
