Second Time Visiting And I'd Say It Was Worth It
This is my second time visiting this club. I came here on a Wednesday night (day after Christmas), about 8pm or so. When walking up there is a bar next door called Sneaky Pete’s which was kind of dead which you’d expect for the day after Christmas. The one thing that sucks about this place is parking. There is a lot behind the joint but I wasn’t sure if it was cool to park there or whatnot so I drove around the block a couple of times. I ended up parking across the street in a lot. At least at the Vu you’re provided parking but not the end of the world.
The other thing that isn’t the greatest are the characters outside typically. There’s a convenience store next door and you’ll find a couple of thuggish looking people hanging around. There’s usually a cop on the light rail platform next to the club so you feel safe but still kind of annoying.
Anyways, you walk through the door and up the stairs. The doorman was pretty cool and I bs’d for about 5 minutes before heading in. Friendly atmosphere off the bat which is a good way to start. Cover charge was $10 and then you immediately walk to the bar area (non-alcoholic) and buy a drink. I think it was another $10 for the drink but it’s unlimited refills. There are other drinks besides basic sodas behind the counter (Monster, Red Bull, etc.) but I don’t know the price of those. It's a pretty typical set up inside. Stage, tables with chairs, high bar tables, and the VIP area lines the back wall. Anyways, I’d say there was about 7 dancers working. I was kind of surprised there were people there. People were laughing with the dancers and seemed to be having a good time. I scanned the room for a seat and pulled up to a high table. I don’t like to make a bee line right for the stage.
