Wednesday Evening Visit

This was the first time I had ever visited the Diamond Royale early in the week and in the evening. The parking lot was more filled than I expected. Upon entering there was no cover charge, thankfully. The club itself had more of an atmosphere of being a sports bar then a strip club. The club was very well lit, and there were a couple of guys playing pool with a dancer. There were no girls dancing on stage when I got there. I took a seat and was eventually approached by a dancer. We sat and talked for several minutes.

I did not expect much of the conversation based on the girl’s appearance, but I was pleasantly surprised by the intelligent conversation. While we were talking a girl finally started dancing on stage. The girl I was talking to asked me if I was interested in a dance. I told her I was just killing time waiting to pick up a friend from Akron-Canton Airport. She understood, and we continued our conversation, as she said she enjoyed it and there really weren’t many patrons there. She said she doesn’t usually work on Wednesdays because it’s so slow (which my visit confirmed for me).

My friend finally called to say he landed, and I left to pick him up. Finally, the Royale has a steak special on Wednesdays. The dancer I talked to said it was pretty good. I didn't try it, but I think she was being honest. Overall, I enjoyed my visit. I assume things pick up as you get later into the evening. Regardless, I wouldn’t rule out another visit to the Diamond Royale during the week in the evenings.
