Got What I Came For...

In my mind this is a sort of dive, not extreme, but still a dive. You walk up to the front door and note that it’s sort of beaten up and won’t close properly. You walk in and everything seems to be well past its prime - the bar, the stage, the stools, and even the dancers. No, the dancers are no longer young and nubile, some really shouldn’t be dancing, but all know what guys are there for and will willingly provide.

In the afternoon there is no cover charge. My drink (soda) always costs $5. The dancers do a two song rotation on stage and then walk around the outside of the bar collecting tips. There is no walking up to the stage to give a tip, and few people throw dollars onto the stage.

When I arrived on this Saturday afternoon at about 3 pm there were about six other patrons at the bar and three dancers sitting together at one end of the bar. I found that a bit unusual because most of the dancers do not sit at the bar without a customer next to them. Usually they circulate once around the bar touching patrons and being touched back, soliciting tips of $1-3 and inquiring about private dances. If they can’t sell any lap dances during this once-around they usually return to the dressing room for a while before repeating the same routine. When I sat down on this day I was approached one by one by the dancers who were sitting at the bar. I declined each of them as I hadn’t even received my drink order yet. For the next 20 minutes or so I continued to watch the stage dancers and sit through the solicitations of each when they got off stage. Eventually, I got a second visit from Mercedes. I would guess her age as mid-30’s. She is solidly built but not too many extra pounds. She has long dark hair and maybe an Asian background. She was in my opinion the best looking of the day’s selection, so I took her up on her offer of a private dance.
