Unremarkable, but not bad
I hit the Brass Rail recently to give the Toronto strip club scene another go. (My last attempt was “For Your Eyes Only” a few years back.) Despite what I read about Toronto having great strip clubs, I find them to be just average. (I’ve had much better experiences in Arizona and Texas.) Anyway...
I dropped in around 10:00 on a Wednesday. No cover, which I always appreciate. I generally like to sit back out of the major flow of traffic where I can see everything, so I started in to the back. (The Brass Rail is one of those long row-style units.) Unlike most other clubs I’ve been to, they didn’t offer to seat me. Anyway, the back was full, so I headed back for the front. I stopped at the bar to get myself a drink while I tried to figure things out, and eventually found a reasonably ok seat with a view.
The girls on stage were average. Maybe this is because it was Wednesday, but I wasn’t all that impressed. I was approached by a few for a dance, none of which interested me (although I go for the dances.) Eventually a tall lady approached me, and sat down for a chat. I accepted a dance from her, not because she was smoking hot, but because she had a “genuine” quality about her. She escorted me to the dance area, where I basically gave her all my money for three dances. (I intentionally brought relatively little cash.) She did not try to up sell me, which I also appreciate. A dance is $20, there is no “special” dance for $30 or more. At least there was not with her.
