New Port is a bar near the Recoleta Cemetery that is loaded with hookers. The business model is such that patrons can negotiate with women of the night in a relaxed pub setting, while the establishment makes money off of overpriced drinks for its troubles as an escort-client intermediary. There are two bars inside, one of each of the side walls. There is a DJ booth and stage on the back wall. The rest of the inside is cluttered with tables, chairs, and several small televisions. A DJ plays dance music.

I visited around 02:30 on a Saturday night. I ordered a bottle of Quilmes, but the bartender made some excuse and gave me a Grolsch instead. Beers are 250 pesos, which is currently about $12.80. The outrageous prices of drinks act as cover charge of sorts. There were about sixteen to eighteen prostitutes present. Most were lounging outside at the eight umbrella-covered tables on the sidewalk talking to patrons or other hookers. A few were inside. Most of them appeared to be Argentines in their 30’s, although a couple were obviously foreign. Out of the whole line-up, only one or two would have been up to my strict standards. I chatted with a fake-titted blonde for a while inside, then went outside and drank out on one of the outside tables. A Dominican and her friend quickly came and sat down at my table. I was not interested, so I just pretended like I did not speak Spanish, and they took the hint. If I was interested in commercial company that evening, I would have walked the one and a half blocks to D’Lirio where there is much younger and better looking talent. Women at New Port will quote high prices to foreigners, but any of them can be pulled for $100 and under.

New Port is open 365 days per year, but does not open until late in the evening. If you want to get the pick of the litter, the best time to go is around 01:00 when the women are showing up. Before midnight, the place will be dead. As time passes, the best escorts will get taken by patrons and depart to off site fuck chambers. As the night progresses and the crowd dwindles, the monger’s bargaining power increases, since the hookers become more desperate to land a client and do not want to go home without making money.
