New Years Eve

Stopped in on NYE since I had just gotten into town that afternoon. One of my rare night visits -about 7, give or take. I've described the layout of this club in detail before, so I'll spare you that this time.

Almost immediately after getting there and taking a seat, a skinny white girl with glasses comes over and PLOPS down in the seat next to me. I've heard there was a couple ploppers at Venom, but this was the first time one ever came over to me. I don't remember her name, but there was no real interaction as she did so. She seemed kind of socially awkward, though I think she's been dancing for at least a few years. It took a few minutes for her to even talk, and when she did it was just small talk. I hadn't even been able to order a drink. As she made small talk I was scanning the room for other dancers, looking for any that I know and/or recognize. None of my daytime favorites were visible. There seemed to be about 9 or 10 dancers on shift with maybe as many guys hanging out. I expected it to be busier, but looking back I am sure it was going to get really busy later that night.

After about 10 minutes or so I finally had ordered my drink and the plopper was getting the jist of me scanning the room. It's not that I wouldn't be interested, but her entire approach just gives off too much of an awkward vibe that seemed too much to overcome when trying to have a good time. Who knows, maybe she would have surprised me, but this night I wasn't willing to invest the time or money to find out.
