Crowds are thinning out

This review covers several visits over the past 2 months, with the most recent one last Thursday. All visits on dayshift, during the week. I’ve noticed a general decrease in crowd volume lately. I’ve confirmed this with several dancers, they almost universally agree that business is a bit down when it comes to crowd size. Of course, that’s a common dancer complaint no matter when you ask them, but I’ve noticed it’s not nearly as tough to get High-Top seats as it used to be. I’d be interested to hear if others are noticing the same thing.

As for the visits themselves, well, it’s still Follies. The girls change but the performance basically stays the same. There has been an uptick in young black spinners and an ongoing dearth of quality white spinners. I haven’t noticed nearly as many Cubans as were there in the summer and last spring. The VIP rooms are about the same. Expect constant dancer and management peek-ins if you go the private rooms, always checking to see if the room is available yet. Extremely annoying but ultimately harmless. Both the private rooms and big room seem to be getting dirtier and dirtier—the used napkins and um, “other things” on the floor and by the sofas are getting more and more conspicuous. Pretty disgusting really. But all in all it’s still the best daytime option around.
