When Mississauga is too far
Filmores is in downtown Toronto, on the ground floor of a hotel by the same name, near Dundas Square but a bit East and a bit sketchier. The other “tourist-trap” clubs on Yonge Street, Brass Rail and Zanzibar, are tamer, and Filmores is more like the Mississauga clubs in terms of mileage; indeed, former Cafe Atlantis dancers are starting to appear at Filmores. I can’t understand how Filmores beats Locomotion in terms of value because Filmores has a once per night VIP room charge for getting dances, and mileage is about $100 more expensive.
The only way I can see Filmores being better value is if you are staying downtown and must add the full fare taxi cost for a return trip to Mississauga, but there are less expensive ways of getting to Mississauga. Filmores is a good alternative when you are downtown and don’t have the extra time (about a half hour drive each way) to get West to Mississauga but do have the money to pay extra for the West experience in a more central location.
