Too quiet

I travel up and down I-95 a lot and take "breaks" at several different clubs along the way. Scores Savannah had been an "occasional regular" stop in spite of it's distance from I-95 (you have to take I-16 to Savannah and drive through an industrial/port area to get to club), but I hadn't been to Scores for nearly a year. The physical club hasn't changed, but the business seems to have taken a downhill slide.

I arrived about 2:00pm on a cold cloudy day, there was still snow on the ground wherever shadows lingered and the parking lot wasn't even 1/10th full. No cover, and no one at the door - there wasn't even a bartender behind the bar when I walked in. Before I decided to turn around, the bartender showed up carrying a case of beer, and set it on the bar before ducking through a space by the stage end of the bar and taking the case to a cooler. I noted in those few minutes that there were only about 4 or 5 customers and 3 dancers in sight. Since the three dancers all looked pretty good at first glance, I decided to delay the long trek back to the highway and see what might transpire.

Beer is still inexpensive (in SC terms), I left a $5 on the bar and the bartender tried to flag me over for change, and smiled when I just pointed at him! When I arrived there was a hip-hop noise from the speakers, but the next tune was classic rock. That jumping around between sounds continued as long as I was there. The music was not extremely loud, but still up there in the near headache range common to SCs. I grabbed a table a few rows back from the empty back wall "main stage." (there is another stage, but I have never seen it in use) After a few minutes, the DJ "announced" in a barely comprehensible, over modulated voice that "Break time is over and <undecipherable dancer name> is on stage next. Give it up for <mumbled>."
