I visited Little Darlings on a Thursday at midnight. There was a $20 cover charge. On the receipt, it is marked as $10 for cover and $10 as an entertainment fee. This is so they can still charge $10 to the guys showing up with free admission passes. The club is nude and only serves nonalcoholic beverages. Confusingly, some beverages are free, while others are $6. For example, sodas and orange juice were free, but bottled water or cranberry juice were $6. The club is very small; there are only forty chairs inside. There is only one stage with one pole. It is about eighteen inches off the ground. Dancers are supposed to strip down to nude, but not all of them do.

The dancers ranged from about a 1 to a 7.5. Most of the dancers were Mexican-American. I was quite surprised that there were quite a few overweight dancers. Do San Diegans love BBW’s or is this strip club struggling to find independent contractors? Dancers are not very personable. They only approach you to ask for a dance or for a tip after their stage set. Here was part of the line-up I caught:
