I found myself in Tampa again with four hours to kill until boarding the flight out. I had gone to 2001 a few months ago and figured it would be a good way to kill the time since it is a short Uber ride from the airport. I won't go into the layout and costs because I covered this in my previous review.

I arrived just after 4:00 PM to an empty club. The DJ greeted me over the PA and said a girl would be right out. He then announced "Tiny in one" to clue the dressing room that they were going to have to start dancing. Now I have going to strip clubs in spurts dating back to the 1980's. This is the first time I can recall arriving at a club three hours after they opened and being the sole customer in the building. It was a very awkward feeling.

I generally have a M.O. when I club. I like to watch the stage for a dancer rotation (or for an hour or so if there are more than 10 dancers) before getting any lappers. I sit a row or two back from the stage so I get good views, but can ignore anyone that doesn't appeal to me. If I watch a dancer through out her set, I figure I should pay for it and will drop $4 or $5 on the stage toward the end of the last dance. If the dancer looks like a VIP potential, I will go stage side for the last dance for a better look and tip more as we interact. I don't pity tip. I am not giving anyone money if I just spent the last nine minutes reading the label on my beer just so I didn't have to look at what was on the stage. (2001 has no alcohol/beer, but you get my point.)
