The Blue Moon Lounge is located in a rough area of Phoenix east of downtown. I had some time to kill early Saturday evening, so I gave this place a go. There is a $12 cover before 19:00. Later the cover shoots up to $20. There is no bar inside or alcohol served, but the dancers will get you a soda or water for $3 from the back if you desire a drink. The interior of the club was clean, and the chairs were vinyl cushioned. There is one main stage with a seven-foot tall spinning pole in the middle. Dancers do three song sets and get completely nude. I do not think contact is allowed at the stage, but dancers would stroke and finger their pussies right in front of you. Songs are played off of a TouchTunes jukebox, and the volume was not terribly loud. You could actually talk over the music.

All four strippers on duty were African-American and looked like they had lived rough lives. I would not grade any of them above a 2 on my strict 10 point scale. You find the same caliber of women working the truck stops giving 40-60-80’s, so why overpay at a strip club? Before 19:00, lap dances are 3 for $46. After 7pm, the lap dances become significantly more expensive: $25 per song. The lap dance booths are to the right of the stage in a cove. There is no privacy from the main room, but the booths that face in the direction of Van Buren seem to be out of the direct line of sight. I saw a guy in the corner booth getting what looked like kissing and a hand jibber from one of the entertainers. I’d imagine even more is available in the curtained VIP rooms. Value could be decent here if they get some better looking dancers, but I kind of felt ripped off paying $12 to see naked BSW’s flop around on stage like catfish.
