Disappointing would be an understatement.
I went first to IR but it was really dead there so we hopped in an Uber to Cheaters. The atmosphere there was equally subdued but we ordered drinks to try and make the best of it.
We paid the $5 cover charge and went to the bar for some reasonably priced drinks (by strip club standards) and sat near the main stage. There are a ton of lights that make the dancer the center of attraction and it produces a cool vibe. If you sit along the stage, dancers come close for you to tip them and some will sit in your lap for a few moments to encourage you to drop a few more dollars. There’s a “Champagne Room” behind the stage but it’s really just a velvet-rope VIP-section that’s exposed to the rest of the club so I never really got the appeal of it. A row of seats are behind all sides of the stage except the one near the entrance, and there are two bars on opposite ends of the club.
The dancers on stage were so unenthusiastic. With the exception of Carmen, a skinny Latina who was having fun with it, and a heavily tattooed brunette whose name i didn’t catch, all of the dancers gingerly swayed side to side on the pole and then bent over for tips. The girls then did the standard “Want a dance?” parade after exiting the stage. The dance room is pitch black and they had a guard “monitoring” to make sure everyone behaves but the guy spent so much time on his phone or talking to girls, I’m assuming there’s nothing to worry about.
