The Camelot Point System
Since DC clubs can't offer lap dances, one of the few ways they make money is selling overpriced drinks. I've heard from a few dancers at this club that the evening shift has a point system they impose on the dancers to induce them to get customers to buy a lot of these expensive drinks.
The more drinks the dancers pull out of the customers, the more points they make. In addition to the sheer number of drinks, the points also are awarded for the cost of the drinks. Champagne bottles are the costliest, along with shots and hard liquor drinks. You would think the dancer would get a percentage of the bar tab, but the reward I heard was that the dancers with the most point or points above a certain level, get to choose what days they work.
Of course it's no surprise that the club wants customers to spend money on drinks, but just know that the drink hustle at this club appears to be a bit more calculating. The waitresses of course are in on the hustle since it improves their tips. I've also heard that the managers sometimes monitor the tables from security cameras all over the bars and sometimes will call a dancer to the phone to get her to hustle more drinks if she is slacking off. They can monitor the cameras from anywhere since the cameras are on a private internet feed.
