Good First Time
I have to preface this review by stating that this is my first time in a strip club, and because of Bucks Wild, it is not going to be my last. A little bit of context: It was my birthday, and my long-term girlfriend was taking me. More on that later.
The one thing I was bracing myself for is that maybe the strip club is not going to be the cleanest place in the world. To my surprise, despite the low-lights, the place was remarkably clean. I even nit-picked the restroom, the booths, the tables, and the private dance area, and they were surprisingly clean. The security team was incredibly friendly. One of the guys from the team talked with me a bit after explaining the situation (Birthday, first-time, couple), and he gave us a great deal on a private booth. The music was not deafening, but still loud enough to have to scream over the music to talk to someone next to you. You could tell that the song choice was controlled by the dancer on the center stage. It fit their personality and overall look. (ex: Punk rocker dancer with pink streaks through her hair and black nail polish danced to Asking Alexandria "Into the Fire".) And best of all, the music was not the cheesy 80's stripper stuff. Mostly modern pop, rock, and country, depending on the dancer.
The dancers were diverse. There were about five white dancers, three black dancers, five hispanic dancers, and two asian dancers. I might have missed a few dancers, but the spread was about even across all ethnicities. You could even tell that there was an experience difference. The ones later in the night were more acrobatic, more fit, (a few clearly had breast or butt implants), and just all around more artistic on the pole. They clearly take the dance seriously, and I appreciated that. There were two dancers very early on in the night that clearly looked bored and seemed like they did not want to be there. I quickly turned away and watched the other dancers on the 5 other stages around the place. Since this was my first visit to a strip club, I did not really know how to approach the dancers. For about 30 minutes, no one approached us. Then again, we did arrive at about 10pm on Black Friday, and the place was a little empty. One very friendly dancer joined us for a drink, and after that, the night went crazy. We were being approached for drinks and small talk and dances. We had enough liquor to share, enough time to talk, and enough money for dances. Thinking back, I could remember our body language being a little closed. We were just nervous. Definitely having my girlfriend there was a deterrent, but after she slammed a few shots of tequila and yelled out, "I want some titties!", people could tell we were there to party.
