Odd club policy

Showgirls is located in Cathedral City southeast of Palm Springs. Inside is a large rectangular room with a center stage, a bar on the one side, and open lap dance area on the other. The club overall was clean and well maintained, although I found the music as usual a tad loud. On a recent Monday night visit, it was happy hour with reduced drink prices and no cover charge. I think there is a parking fee and cover charge later in the evening.

I was unaware of Showgirls as it was not listed on the Palm Spring’s club map, but noticed a bill board ad along highway 111 and decided to give it a try. It was fun, with variety of dancers, somewhat diverse ethnicity, and ranging in appearance from pretty to very pretty, but no ten’s.

The name of the city is a clue to the odd regulation that govern the club. The dancers can be topless while dancing on the stage, but not during lap dances. To their credit, the dancers make their best effort to offer enjoyable and up-close lap dances. Consistent with that odd regulation, the lap dance area is open to all to see. I met a dancer Alexa, who was personable and offered fun lap dances.
