Slow night at the old dive

Stopped into Bogarts on a Black Friday evening for a couple of drinks with scenery. Not sure if they'd underestimated the number of guys with similar thoughts the day after Thanksgiving, but there were only 6 or 7 dancers (1 AA, the rest white, mostly slim. 5s-7s in my book) for the 25 or so customers in the place at 8:30 PM, and only one more had shown up by the time I left an hour and change, and 2 beers later. With the $5 cover, the two $6.75 Miller Lights imbibed (water is more expensive!), and a few tips doled out, it was a cheap(ish) night at the dive bar.

This place has been described often in these pages, but I don't see such a post recently, so here's a quick recap: upon entry, the main part of the club is to your right, the private dance area up a few stairs to your left. The main stage is I shaped, allowing for extra chairs to be set out for Pervert Row. On a night like tonight, these chairs were mostly unused. In fact, they only seem to get used on $10 Dance days (Tuesday at Bogarts) and on busier Fridays/Saturdays. Stage tipping isn't very prevalent here, basically. There are two postage stamp side stages on either end, only one of which was being used at a time on this evening.

The bar dominates the back of the club, running essentially the length of the floor, and offering ~15 seats from which to watch the action, or interact with the ladies. Between the bar and main stage there are 4 hi top tables, one of which provided my perch for the evening. TVs ring the ceiling behind the main stage, and there's a giant screen on the wall in front of the VIP area, which makes it a decent place to watch a game. Enough guys apparently were keeping an eye on the Red Wings to generate a low groan when the Rangers scored their game winning overtime goal tonight. My favorite vantage point are the seats under that giant screen, but they were occupied tonight.
