Worth a visit

The bar is on the same block as Hong Kong and Adelitas and that's a major plus. Clientele are mostly locals and they play mostly mariachi type music. Girls rarely speak english, so you better know spanish well if you're interested in engaging in conversation. Beer is usually $3 and they do serve two beers for that price when they have specials going on. Girls on average usually cost about $50-$60 plus $16 for the room. Some girls will give BBBJ. The quality of girls are below what you'll find at Adelitas and Hong Kong. Quality is quite average, but you could find some stunners in the mix. The bar itself is big and just like Hong Kong, it stretches out to the back street (two entrances).

Usually it's a safe place. However, during my last visit, there was scuffle that broke out which eventually escalated when group of local mexicans were kicked out and returned with broom sticks and other wooden sticks and beat one of the security guards. To be fair, I've visited this club several times and this was an isolated incident.

Overall, I recommend visiting Las Chavelas, but it can't be compared to Adelita or Hong Kong. I usually go here if I need a break from the two dominant clubs.
