INTERESTING AND A BIT DIFFERENT

Inhibitions opens from Wednesday to Saturday at 9pm. But before then you can experience strippers in the other half of the building - the Woolpack - which is a pound-in-the-pot (or mainly in the hand actually!) strip pub. Woolpack is open seven days a week and the website suggests that there are dancers from 1pm. There were four dancers in the Woolpack when I arrived with a female friend. After 11pm, when the pub half shuts, they all came round to Inhibitions adding to the four or five girls who were already in Inhibitions (presumably from 9pm).

When you entre the Woolpack there is an area which is strictly a pub then asa you go tot eh left you pass a sign which makes it clear that from here on you are committing to putting your pound coins in the pot (if there is one!). The dancers got fully naked on the small stage. Woolpack also offers semi-private dances behind some curtains but we did not try one. I have not come across this arrangement elsewhere. Drinks were reasonably priced in both pub and club, a bit higher than normal pubs but not excessively so.

When you enter Inhibitions you are asked for £10 each and given a hand stamp; you can go round to the pub and come back without paying again. Inhibitions was dead at 10pm but it livened up later. The bar is to your left but as others have said, it is waiter/waitress service - you lift the light on your table to attract attention.The dancers were a mixed bunch. Some definitely overweight by my standards - but they got asked for dances by other people - there is no accounting for taste! I would say the girls ranged from 4s to 9s. You can choose between dances in the open area of the club or dances in four small private booths. Because there were two of us and the booths were plainly too small for two customers at once we chose dances out in the open; they started at £10. The girls got naked and the dances were close - closer than in many London clubs - but customers are not allowed to touch the girls. We had dances with two of the slimmer girls; neither were British but they both spoke good English and enjoyed chatting before and after dances. Indeed in both cases we asked them for dances rather than the other way round. So there seemed to be little hustle at least on this quiet night. We only saw one guy going to a booth and were surprised when the management opened the curtain when time was up, flustering the very naked dancer! I gathered that these more private dances were £25 minimum.
