The invisible man, or the white whale

I’ve said some nice things about this club before, and I’ve ranted before. Today’s review will be a rant.

First, the good. Very nice facilities, well kept, clean bathrooms with no troll in the daytime, $5 cover in the daytime with a combo cover including lunch and the first drink free for $10, reasonably priced drinks, and generally good-looking women. No touching allowed unless you pay $150 for a half hour in VIP. Then you can touch, OMG, the legs and arms without calling down the wrath of Frank the Bouncer! (Really, Frank’s an ok guy, just holding the line on the rules.)

Now, the bad. I walked in on a weekday afternoon a couple weeks ago, not a Friday, to find two other customers and four dancers and one cute, friendly bartender. The one customer was clearly a PL like me. I shall refer to the other customer as the White Whale. When I have ranted about this club before it has always been about how the girls tend to ignore customers unless they are more or less regulars. Well, it’s worse than that. Over the last couple of months I have been cultivating a relationship with one dancer who explained to me that most of the girls in the club will ignore customers who don’t show an inclination to shove major money and drinks their way just to be in the presence of beautiful women. On this day all four dancers were stuck like barnacles to Moby Dick. I sat at the bar for over an hour and none of them would even look my way. I had on two previous occasions talked to and had $20 lap dances with one of the girls, but even she wanted nothing to do with me on this day. When Moby Dick went to the bathroom I said hello to her, but her face and eyes responded with a clear, “Get away from me, Loser!” And, it wasn’t just me. The other PL got no better treatment. I left after about an hour, having spent $5 for the cover, $2 for a soda, $1 tip to the bartender for the soda and $2 in tips to dancers in a vain attempt to have them acknowledge my presence. I also gave $5 to the bartender as I left because she was the only one who would talk to me.
