Like a middle school dance
I visited Sugar's on a Sunday evening around 6:00 PM. The club is very spacious - has a lodge-like atmosphere and decor, with a lot of seating areas and some separate areas that would provide decent privacy for lap dances. The club contains one long stage with a couple of poles in front of the bar, and another smaller stage adjacent to the bar. Shortly after I arrived, the club had one dancer on the long stage and one dancer on the smaller stage. There were about 10 dancers on shift, mostly 6s and 7s with one 8.
The club had several waitresses on shift, and they were very attentive; I had no trouble getting drinks. But aside from this, the whole thing was a bit like a middle school dance, with the boys on one side of the room and the girls on the other. After completing their stage rotations, most dancers disappeared behind the bar; a couple sat with customers (regulars I guess), but most were nowhere to be found. Too bad! There were a few I would have gladly bought dances with.
I remember reading in a prior review that Sugar's is a regulars-oriented club, and this visit gave me little evidence to the contrary. The talent was good, and the balance of dancers (about 10) to customers (about 20-30) was fine, but there didn't seem to be a lot of interest in selling dances. I think that in the 30 minutes I spent there, I saw one customer go back for dances - no more.
