Left feeling both empty and full.
I was in the area from out of town on a Saturday afternoon and I had one chance to find a club that offered what I was looking for. I didn't have enough time to club hop, and I didn't know any of the clubs except through reviews, so I read up here and chose Showplace.
First off, many of the reviews talk about this being a dive, but man, compared to lots of other places I've ventured into, this was almost a palace. It's large, well lit (at least on a Saturday afternoon around 4pm), with big TVs and spacious bar areas and a clear view of the whole place. The parking lot was large, easily accessible and in a very safe-feeling area. I never felt awkward about parking and walking in.
The problem was that at 4 on a Saturday afternoon, the place was a ghost town. There might have been one or two other patrons in the place (but not sitting anywhere), and there was exactly one dancer on. She wasn't my type - she was really friendly and sort of cute but the body wasn't anything I wanted to invest in. But being the only patron sitting at the bar, she found me fast. It wasn't like she was keeping me from anyone else, because there was no one else, but I didn't really want to engage her in much conversation because I wasn't going to accept any offers. I almost wanted to ask her when the other dancers got there but that might have been a little...awkward.
