Saturday Evening

I ventured into the Million Dollar Saloon around 7 on a Saturday evening recently and it was pretty much as I expected with one significant difference. I used to go to the Million quite often about a decade ago and it could get quite busy with a good variety of dancers and a pretty good vibe. A drop in talent, coupled with the opening of New Locomotion and Cafe Atlantis, has pretty much kept me away until recently. The club was pretty quiet with about a dozen patrons and as many dancers, with the dancers ranging from 5s - 7.5s.

Beer was about $8 (without tip), the place still has a cavernous feel to it, and the dances are still very liberal. However, the big change was to the vip area! It used to be a disaster of ancient, worn-out chairs with springs sticking out of them and dusty plastic trees. The trees were gone, leather chairs had replaced some of the uncomfortable fabric ones, and I was told that the renovations are continuing. If this will attract more customers and dancers, perhaps MDS can regain some of its former glory.
