TOO UPSCALE FOR ME

In Memphis for the first time and checking out various clubs. Second stop was the Pony on a Friday night from 9:00-10:00.

I pulled up to the good-sized building and there were a handful of cars parked in a small number of spots, with a guy standing at the door and orange cones in front of some of the few available spaces. It looked like a valet set-up to me, so I drove around the side of the building to the back, where there were a ton of spaces in a huge, well-lighted lot. Parked in the back, walked to the front door, showed the guy my ID and walked in. The cover was $16, which included two drinks. Traded in one of my drink tickets at the bar for a bottle of water and found a seat near, but not right at, the main stage.

The decor is very posh and upscale, so if that's important to you (like if your wife or girlfriend wants to visit a strip club for the first time), you'd be pleased. There is a large main stage (with two poles, I think), and three small, circular satellite stages around the large room. I was told by one of the dancers that when it's busy, girls dance two songs on the main stage (sometimes two girls at a time), then rotate to each of the satellite stages. It was early, though, and there were only about 12 girls working and a handful of customers. The girls I saw were mostly attractive white spinners, and the ones I saw on stage did not take anything off. However, one of them told me that even though it's nominally a bikini club, they are allowed to dance topless, but they usually don't if there aren't enough customers. As I sat with a few different girls, the waitress came by to ask if we needed anything, but there was no pressure to buy drinks.
