Visited: Sunday Afternoon

I visited DejaVu Downtown Seattle on Sunday Sep 3 (Labor Day weekend) from about 5:30 to 6:30. I had attended a Mariners game that afternoon and stopped at DejaVu while walking back to my hotel, it's not all that close to Safeco Field. It's on 1st avenue in the heart of tourist Seattle, between the main shopping streets of Pike and Pine and across the street from the famous Pike Place Market. Clearly parking would be a problem. The club is on the second floor over an adult store. There's an elevator if you have problems with the stairs.

There was an ID check and cover was $22 which included free non-alchololic drinks, the only kind served. There was a sign at the entrance listing all the DejaVu clubs in the area, of which there were at least 6. The main room of the club is very dark and has low ceilings. There was a small stage with 2 poles and a few rows of chairs intersperced with small tables, maybe 50 in all. The soft drink bar was in a room off to the side. There was a second room that was essentially a mirror image of the first and used when crowds were larger.

Initially I was the only customer, after a while a couple of more guys came in and when I was leaving a male-female couple was coming in. After a few minutes a dancer came out and the stage show was continuous after that. I saw 5 dancers total, all white and reasonably young and good looking. They did 2 song sets most of them getting nude by the end of the second song. Some of them came offstage for mini-laps. Pole work was OK given the low ceiling. I think the "DJ" was a recording since the same words were said every time, only the dancer's name varying.
