Clubbing vs. Mongering

HK is legendary for good reason: It combines the best of the US strip club experience with the brothel experience. If all you wanted to do is camp out, drink alcohol, and perv out at the goods on display, you could be very happy here. Provided you are fine fending off the constant hustle of aggressive meseros, who frequently hit you up for drinks, food, or bring HK ladies to your lap for $1 tips. I'm perfectly fine identifying the girl I want to spend time with, thank you.

But this club, by design, is an all-out assault on your senses: the music is loud, the hustle is constant, the strobe lights incessant, the drinks can flow constantly, the DJ doesn't shut up, and what's with that fucking whistle blowing all the time? Half the music sounds like it's reggaeton. Did I mention this place is massive? At any time, there might be 20-something girls on various elevated stages dancing, on poles, doing a shaving cream show, or just parading around. There's even the HK version of "nyotaimori", where one of the working girls lies down horizontally on a mobile stretcher and gets carted around so patrons can partake of food/drink placed over her bare body. Instead of sushi, here it looks like jello shots.

So as pure spectacle, you already know you're not in Kansas anymore. As a scene, this place can be fun. But now you want to get your groove on, right?
