The Haunted Strip Club
This is probably one of the strangest experiences I've had involving a strip club. This club's web site indicated that it opened at 9 pm. I walked by at 8:58 and everything was closed up-big metal doors down, you name it. No one around, dark and quiet, and I was sure it was closed for good. I circled back less than five minutes later and it was open, lit up, and ready for business...or so it seemed.
I talked to the guys at the door and they let me know it was BYOB and took my cover, which I think was $10. I declined to go and grab something to drink, which was, in retrospect, a mistake, but I was much more interested in the girls than the booze, so that was the call I made.
I went in and was sent upstairs. The room is huge, with a bar to the left, and two stages, one behind the other. I sat down at the stage closest to the door, and waited. Alone. For a sorta long while. Then, a dancer got on the furthest stage, and started her routine. She wasn't really my type--a bit heavier than I usually go for, but she was enthusiastic enough, and persisted, even though it was just her and me.
