Being new to the area, I've not had too much experience with the clubs on the other side of the river from St. Louis. It seems like everyone I've met warned me to try to avoid this area after it gets dark. I found myself off work a little bit early with some extra cash in my pocket so I decided to check out Scarlett's after hearing about the changes and influx of reviews on this site.

I arrived right around 5PM just beating the heavy traffic on the interstate. It was a bit of a headache trying to get to the club since I was following the turn by turn directions from my GPS that was unaware of the road work going on. In my detour it led me through a pretty sketchy neighborhood. The club however was located away from the main streets with a large field separating it from the nearby neighborhoods. It can be seen from the interstate and once the road is completed it will be easy access. The club had a huge parking lot with fencing around it. There was still several hours of daylight but it looked like it would be well lit.

I entered the club and immediately went to the bar. They were running a drink special with $3 beers, $4shots, and $5 mixed drinks. Since I had to drive myself later I stuck with a domestic beer. The club had the loudest interior for lack of better words. The clubs I've been to in the past (most of which were in the Ozarks) had pretty calm, subtle interiors. Lots of bright colors. The music was at a decent level and with a diverse playlist of songs. There was a good crowd for early on a Thursday. About twenty customers at least. There were a lot of people like myself who looked like they had just come from work. There were also a few people that seemed like regulars.
