Still solid after all these years
If you're looking for a good time in London Ontario, Solid Gold is both your best and only bet at the moment?
The place isn’t overly pretentious, staff are friendly, girls are very friendly, patrons are a mixed bag ranging from drunk businessmen to crews of college frat bros and only a few nefarious types.
Cover is free at open and increases to $15 around midnight. Drinks are reasonably priced and the service is very good, thanks to the two full bars at opposing ends of the club.
The club is very safe thanks to metal detectors at the entrance, although this can lead to a backup at peak times, so I advise you arrive before 10pm on a Friday or Saturday.
Dancers are surprisingly hot. They skew white, early 20’s, and heavily tatted — although I did see at least one black girl, a couple latinas, and a few olive skinned chiites.
This club follows the familiar 3-song set where they get progressively more naked as the songs go on. No singles unfortunately, but the girls love when you toss them a few fivers as they approach. This is actually the best way to lock down a popular girl for lap dances before she gets off-stage and mauled by others.
Girls are not pushy and rarely scheme in my experience. Very on-the-level and fair. My fave girls are Violet and Jaguar — in terms of demeanour, wit, sexiness, satisfaction, replay value.
Lap dances in the VIP rooms are $20/song and there are no bouncers keeping watch which is nice, although you will promptly see a bouncer should you try to test the limits too many times.
As for extras, well, let's just say they're not exactly on the menu. However, some of the dancers might be up for extending the party once the lights come on if you play your cards right.
In a nutshell, Solid Gold is solid in every way — unless you’re looking to get a grimy bbj on a stained vinyl couch. Highly recommend!
