This is a review of a Saturday night visit in May. After an uninspiring visit at HiLiter, I decided to stop by Bourbon St. Circus before heading back to the hotel. There was no charge for parking. I paid the $10 entrance fee. There was no pat-down, metal detector scan, or requests for ID. The club to seems to be moderately upscale, certainly above HiLiter, but below Christie's Cabaret.

When I first entered the main area, I immediately thought this is a very smoky club. It was not smoke, but instead some kind of mist or dry ice effect they use to enhance their stage lighting. They have multiple stages with intense red lighting aimed vertically that when going through the mist creates the illusion of the dancers being in a cage. It is initially a pretty cool effect, but I became less fond of it as the night went on.

I grabbed a table adjacent to one of the stages that I gave me a good view of three stages at once. A waitress came by and I was able to order a Sculpin IPA for IIRC $8. A nice feature of the club is they bring fresh popcorn to your table. The dancers generally were quite attractive. There did not seem to be a great deal of stageside tipping while I was there and my efforts seemed well appreciated. However, it did not entice any of the dancers to come by for a visit. The dancers seem to go through a rotation of two dances at each stage, so after that many dances I guess they have to go backstage to freshen up.
