Better than you Think

I was on my way home from a trip from Connecticut and stopped in at the Lamplighter. At times when I drive by there are only a handful of cars in the parking lot. Tonight there was at least twenty so I stopped in to have a beer and see who was there. A large man greeted me and I paid my $5 and took a seat at the long bar that covers the back of the club. Most of the bar stools were filled and with the relative bright lights you could see everyone. Cheap beer and a dour yet friendly barkeep.

As i settled in, I got a chance to see the women. Wow, a wide variation ranging from not my type and a bit hyper to a couple of gorgeous women of color. No fancy gowns or attitudes here, Yet fun outfits and down to earth ladies who like to drink and hang out. While a majority of the women there are not for me, in my handful of times there, there always seems to be one that catches my fancy.

This time is was a small African American woman from Boston who has the biggest smile and lots of curves. She was doing a set on the stage,(not a lot of movement). I watched and had a great chat at the stage as she mostly sat with me and we talked about her pending trip to Florida. We had a great conversation which we continued at the bar with a drink.
