"It's customary to tip the bouncer" GTFOH

Back in Montreal for work and decided to try one of the downtown clubs since it was near the office. Broke away for a late lunch and walked over to Chez Paree. It was almost 4p and we were greatest by the bouncer. He walks us in and asks where we'd like to sit. Since not many people were there, I asked to be sat at the bar. He shows us to our seats and then proceeds to tell me, "it's customary to tip the bouncer." I look at the bar and there's empty beer bottles at the part of the bar he sat us at. I stared at the for a few moments, thinking he was going to take them away, instead, he just stood there with his hand out. Seeing as this guy was an idiot, I tipped him $1USD and he walked away.

At this point, I was clearly agitated and ordered a couple drinks. The bartender was nice, but service was slow. The girls were still coming in as I could see plenty walk down the stairs towards the dressing room. Most of the women were about 5's to 6's. I didn't see there being any decent stage shows as some of the dancers would just sit on stage.

Clearly, I chose a bad time to come to the club, however, that shit that bouncer pulled had really soured my attitude towards the place. Gulped down my drinks and headed back to the office.
