A decent way to spend an afternoon

Went on a Saturday afternoon. Figured I'd see a mix of the regular day shift ladies and some evening girls a bit later in the afternoon. Pretty much worked out that way. Although it's been a while since my last visit, the vast majority of the women on the afternoon shift are well known to me. It seems they've been there for many many years. But that's not a bad thing. These ladies are employed there because they do a good job. So sign up for dances with them if you find one you like. They will show you a good time, for the most part.

I mentioned the trip to a friend and he said he had heard that they laid off or got rid of a number of dancers. Honestly I couldn't tell that while I was there. There are so many dancers working there, that you probably wouldn't miss a few of them unless you were specifically looking for one girl in particular. If anyone knows if the layoff is true, please confirm. If they had gotten rid of a few, I think that's a good thing for surrounding clubs. Those girls will get picked up by the other clubs. And then those clubs in turn will lay off a few girls that probably need to think about retirement. Not intending to sound harsh, but I'm 47, and I remember some of these ladies as experienced dancers from the early 90s.

In any event, I'll return to the Downer, and try to see how much talent has changed. It was a good mix of young and old. So no matter what they did, they still have a good balance of women, and that should suit any gentleman making his way there.
