Dancer Review
I work here on and off on night shift. For dancers - this is a very easy going club with few strict rules. They don't care about schedules. A cabaret license is not required to work here, though it is in the city limits, but it is suggested. There are cameras in the DJ booth to watch the streets for vice, and the DJ will warn you if they are coming. This gives those without licenses time to get dressed and be "customers" or run off the property to the smoking hut outside. It is a non-smoking bar, but they let you go outside and off property to smoke.
There are cats in the parking lot that the managers take care of and feed. There is no house mom. The locker room is very small. I would suggest bringing a bag with a lock because all of the lockers are taken. The girls are all really nice and there is no drama that I've ever witnessed. Tip out is cheap - $10 to the house, $15 to the DJ, and $5 to the bouncer. If you drive, parking is $2. Dances are $20/song. The VIP rooms are open and there are no walls or curtains. $20 to use the upstairs VIP and $5 to use the downstairs VIP. The DJ booth is in the upstairs VIP. The VIP couches and chairs are extremely uncomfortable to dance for a customer on. They are old and the edges of the furniture digs into your calves when you straddle a customer. The managers want a clean club, but day shift gets away with some "stuff" in the upstairs VIP with $ to the DJ to not turn around.
Night shift is strict about no extras. Night shift starts at 8pm, there is no leaving early. Stage sets are 4 songs and the music is all rock. On the weekends, you share the stage with another girl usually. The stage is very small and rectangular shaped. There are 4 static poles on each corner of the stage and a tip rail surrounding the stage. One of the DJs is a little pervy and will hit on the new girls and ask them for dances. The managers are always happy to see you show up and work. The waitresses and bartenders are also always happy with minimal drama or conflict. It's a club with a neighborhood feel, but the only remaining rock music club in Detroit.
