Satisfactory return on investment
Approached Washington Park southbound on 111... Glanced over at Cheeks and noticed one car on the lot-presumably-the bar tenders. Outside, at the entrance were three "entertainers" sunning themselves in the early afternoon. Two corpulent AA ladies and one white female approaching critical mass. It surprised me not at all that the parking lot was empty; if this was indicative of the quality of "entertainers" at Cheeks, one wonders how they can possibly attract any patrons, much less pay the light bill. I used to think CMowes was the bottom of the barrel, but surely Cheeks has now captured that dubious distinction.
A quick left turn took me to WiseGuys (thankfully) and upon entry was greeted by name by the bartender-Lexi- by name, with a cheerful greeting. Always a nice touch and helps set the tone for the afternoon.
I observed 4 young entertainers: you can tell their respective ages by their slavish attention to their smartphones, the more engrossed they are to their electronic devices, the closer they are to legal age. As I approached the bar and was handed my drink by Lexi, (the attentive bartender), an attractive entertainer slid up next to me and recognized me from a previous visit. I had not been to WiseGuys in several months and I was flattered that she remembered my name. Makes you feel good that you made an impression on a dancer that she would remember you and the details of the interaction we had previously shared.
