Best Among Lackluster Alternatives
Made several recent business trips to Cincinnati, so got my fill of the Northern KY strip clubs. Lux Views is the best of the lot, which isn't saying much.
When I get around to it, I'll submit reviews of Brass Ass and Brass Bull in downtown Newport. All I'll say about them now is that, if you're travelling on business and you like to get a load on, they're a safe, half-mile walk form the waterfront hotels, and there's a 34 hour White Castle on the way.
Lux is maybe a 2-3 mile uphill drive from metro Newport/Covington on KY Highway 9. It's a narrow, 2 lane road up a gorge, so it seems more remote than it probably really is. You have to keep your eyes out for the club, which is on the right as you head uphill, away from town. I think there's parking in back, but both times I was there, I pulled into spots up front, which means I had to back out onto the highway to leave. At least the road isn't very busy.
Was there twice, once around 8 pm and the other around 10. $10 cover, IIRC, but on the second trip, I didn't have to pay cover because I'm a senior. (So, there are some upsides to ID scan).
Fairly small, standup bar along the left side as you walk in. High top tables out in front of the bar. There's a low stage in front immediately to the left of where you walk in, and another way in the back. Sometimes there's a dancer on one stage or the other, sometimes both, sometimes neither. You can walk right up and tip the dancer on stage.
I usually don't notice the music or DJ much in a club, but what caught my attention here is they had some kind of creepy, robotic, AI DJ setup, where they apparently just plug the names of the dancers in and the robot does the rest.
These Northern KY clubs have several things in common. First, they are all "bikini bars", so tops don't come off. Ever. Not on stage, not for LDs, not for VIP. Very limited if any contact, and no extras. And they all have the "dancer drink" scam where you're expected to pay $20-60 for a drink so he dancer will hang with you. Your own drink is somewhat reasonably priced, may $12 for a vodka tonic.
Lux at least looks more or less like a conventional SC setup. VIPs are in a row of booths divided by an aisleway. Not that anything goes on in VIP that would call for privacy, but there is none, as the aisleway between booths is used as a passageway by dancers and staff. Dancers smile at you as they walk past.
LD's are even worse, as they are done on a bench along the wall of the open seating area that extends back to the rear stage.
Dancer quality generally ranges from 3-6 (lots of weight issues) although, on both visits, I managed to connect with and do VIPs with the one dancer (different each time) who was head and shoulders above the rest in looks. Dancers mostly white with some AA. No Latinas on either visit.
I think 15 minute VIPs were $125-150. While it is always nice to have an attractive woman grinding on you, given the constraints we were working under, 15 minutes was plenty of time. I was holding out hope for overtures toward OTC, but didn't happen, so, on each visit, I called it after a tame VIP with the hottest dancer in the club at the time and then drove down to Newport, parked my car at the hotel, and then walked over to the "Brass" clubs to get shitfaced.
