2001 afternoon visit

I had a last-minute trip to Florida. One day in Tampa and then one day in Fort Lauderdale. I get to Florida with some regularity, but rarely to Tampa. Having been to Mons Venus once years ago, I decided to try 2001 Odyssey for the first time instead. I arrived around 3 PM. There's no charge for self parking. Admission was five dollars. In Tampa, nude clubs are by law alcohol free. A bottled water costs six dollars.

The club itself seemed to be a clean and well-maintained mid-tier club. Not overly high end, but certainly not a dive. It was well lit. There was an L-shaped stage that contained three spinning poles. The club was dead, but that's not unusual for a Wednesday afternoon at 3 PM. There were three other patrons beside myself and a total of five dancers working.The girls do a three song set, usually nude by the third song. Apparently, the ritual here is to spend the first half of the first song meticulously cleaning all three poles. I could certainly understand this if I saw a lot of death-defying pole gymnastics, but four of the five girls only touched the poll with their hands using it as a support as they walked around it or occasionally lifted a leg in the air.

Three of the dancers were too big for my taste. I don't mind thick, but I can't stand doughy out of shape with a belly. You would think just dancing several days a week would be enough to keep them in somewhat better shape.
