Good addition to the Mid Michigan strip club scene
Ruby Slipper recently opened in the extensively renovated store front that previously housed Dr. Don's, the strip club that previously occupied this storefront. I only visited Dr. Don's once and that was a very brief visit motivated in part by concern that the building was so poorly maintained that it was a public health hazard. So Ruby Slipper is a welcome transformation of this storefront. The main entry is located on Main Street in the small urban area that Jackson calls "downtown."
Five dollar entry to the club in the evening. As you enter, there is a bar with maybe 10-12 bar stools on the left side, beyond the bar is a raised stage, followed by a seating area with a few overstuffed chairs and couches. Along the right side of this relatively narrow building, about 10-12 small tables (and chairs of course) extended to just beyond the stage area. After the table and chairs end, an area that is partially screened from the main club area with a half wall, contains a number of small cubicles where semi-private lap dances were offered.
Further to the back of the building on the right side were two small (maybe 6-8 feet?) rooms each of which had a privacy curtain and contained an overstuffed couch and a mirrored wall. Overall, the placed looked good, not posh and upscale, but certainly world's of difference from its predecessor.
