I was driving through Morgan City...

I was driving through Morgan City and pretty much happened to come across this strip club on a Tuesday afternoon. Apparently, The Platform had just opened in March 2017, so I thought I would do some reconnaissance and add the club to TUSCL. The cover was $7, but I was not assessed a fee because it was early in the day and the club was not in full swing. If you pay the $7 cover, your first domestic beer is free, or you only have to pay the difference if you want something pricier than a domestic beer. The inside is a huge horseshoe-shaped bar with fifty stools around it. There is no other seating other than at the bar. At the top of the horseshoe beyond the bar is a stage with a single pole about six and a half feet tall. Customers do not have access to tip the stage. After dancers get done they walk on top of the bar collecting tips from the patrons. If you are familiar with Visions in New Orleans East, The Platform seems to be a very similar operation. A free lunch is offered daily. Smoking is permitted inside. The music is played by a DJ and is mostly rock and electronic music.

Lap dances take place in a small room in the corner for $20. You must purchase a bracelet for $10 to get private dances. When I visited, there was only one dancer worker, a slim brunette whom I’d rate a 7.
