MJX196: Personality Wins
Context:
I had a random open Saturday in my schedule. With weather and time constrains I didn’t feel confident with my usual first choice. I also found a cheep hotel deal so it was off to my second choice establishment. I arrive at about 9.15p and departed at about 11.45p.
Location:
Just off the Smithton exit, behind the Flying J.
Parking / Valet:
No valet. As I’ve described in several reviews, the main lot on the North side of the building is a total shit show. Somehow I ended up on the gate side of the line of parking spaces. Thankfully I wasn’t parked in and was able to loop around the “back” side of the row to get out. The lot was surprisingly full when I arrived and seemed to match a decent number of customers inside the club at arrival. When I left, the club was pack but the lot wasn’t. This seemed a little strange. I’ve seen the lot slammed full with far fewer customers in the club. IDK. This help ease exiting the lot, so I guess that worked out for me.
The Club:
The overview of the club is the same as always. $22 cover at entry (Fri/Sat). ID checked, but not scanned. Theoretically non-smoking, but lots of vaping, and I could definitely smell something in the air at times. Proceed to the “bar” for free beer (a choice of Coors light or Michelob light, I think), bottled water, and soft drinks (Pepsi, Sprite, etc.). All the seats on the stage side of the bar remain gone. Proceeding forward is the main stage and then there is the second stage further on, which is almost never used. There are a few small tables between the two stages and then a few of the small tables have been moved over closer to the dressing room. The customer base seemed to skew brown IMO. I’m not saying that to be derogatory but it is historically different for this area.
Dancers:
I saw about 20 dancers on shift. On one hand, I was surprised by the demographics: about 50% brown or mixed, 25% black, 25% white, and of course one Asian. This doesn’t seem to fit with being in deep Trump country, but perhaps that’s what this area is so Trumpy. A few were too thick for the profession, but generally not bad in the scenery department. On the other hand, there were just enough diamonds in the rough for me to feel satisfied.
Stage Show:
From entry to about 10p, it was one dancer doing two song sets. Theoretically topless, then nude but most were only give minimal effort early. At about 10p or so they switched to two dancers doing a three song set. I would generally say topless 1st/2nd song, and nude 3rd song. Overall effort was higher with two dancers on stages and a full bank of customers at perverts row. The stage is raised so you can see from just about anywhere in the club. It’s a bit high for my personal tastes but it’s OK.
Mingling:
On one hand, I get that they don’t want rocks sitting at the bar. On the other hand, this club always has had a mingle to sell dances vibe. Although I have to say I got zero attention when sitting at the bar and finally got some offers when I moved to one of the tables over by the dressing room. I was also surprised that there were very few dancers mingling about before 10p. I guess that’s better then them sitting there on their phones, but it was a different vibe. I didn’t get a ton of offers, but I actually did get offers form two of the better/best looking dancers so I guess I have to call that a victory. One wasn’t much more than the “wanna dance” and paradoxically the other seemed to keep talking and not cutting to the sale. IDK. I’d like a little more effort than “wanna dance” but shit, if it’s been 10 minutes and you’re still waiting on the guy to make the move, argh. This might make a good discussing thread but maybe a 2-5 minute rule? Less than 2 minutes isn’t enough effort, but more than five, you either need to close the deal or move on?
Dances:
I managed to get topless LDs with two dancers. Neither was exactly forward about ground rules for the LDs but eventually it was clear touching uncovered areas was acceptable. (YMWV.) First dancer was was ~8.5 on my scale, very cute but pretty quiet. Second dancer was more a ~7.5 on my scale, great body, but very fake tits, but she liked to talk. Maybe I’m wired funny or something but the “like to talked” vibe was so refreshing. I’d so much rather spend money with some level of personality then awkward silence. Personality sells more / better than raw looks.
Value:
I consider a handsy topless dance at $20/song good value, especially considering inflation. $160 for a 20 minute camera-ed up room is steep compared to $100/$120 for 30 minute rooms somewhere else.
Overall:
Although I am surprised but the shift in demographics, I consider this a very successful outing with two very good LD experiences from two very good looking dancers, one who was very personable. LD value was good IMO. I never (in the distant past) was impressed with the camera-ed up 20 minute room option. I see no reason to spend more on that without solid info to justify the added cost. As I said, a very solid 2nd choice for me, but I’m going to allocate my finite time and finite funds to known higher return ventures.
Museum Rating:
Eh, 6/10. There were enough dancers I found satisfying that it was good enough, but the overall scenery wasn’t awesome IMO.
Amusement Rating:
I’ll give it a 7/10. Good. Not great, with the YMWV warning.
