Visited: Wednesday Afternoon

In downtown Pittsburgh for a conference on Wednesday, and decided to deal with some afternoon boredom with a visit to Blush. The club is a block from the Convention Center and within walking distance of hotels and the business district. I visited the club once before (in 2012) and had a decent time; the main room has since been remodeled, and is well-maintained and reasonably posh. Signage indicated that there was a separate "sports bar," but at the hour of my arrival (~2:00) the guy at the front desk didn't mention it. The main room is laid out differently than before--the bar is just inside the door, with a large main stage across the room; booths along the wall to the right, and table seating by the stage. Overall, a clean, well-lit club, smoke-free and comfortable. Liquor prices are fair, lower than East Coast clubs. Took my seat at the bar and settled in. The afternoon crowd was a mix of professional types, blue-collar guys, and a couple of retirees. A quiet, mellow vibe characteristic of day-shift city strip clubs.

There appeared to be 9 or 10 dancers on shift, and about as many customers when I arrived. For the most part, dancers were slender and natural (OK, a couple of boob jobs, but not many enhancements); a range from fit to curvy, a couple of AA dancers, the remainder Caucasian. Girls wore long gowns on the floor, and danced three-song sets ending up topless. As usual for a day shift, there was a wide range of effort--a couple of girls doing acrobatic moves on stage with the pole and a large suspended ring, others "mailing it in" for the sparse crowd. Same range offstage; a few "wanna dance" walk-by pitches, one or two willing to carry on a conversation, some just sitting around playing with their phones. All in all, a respectable selection. The main offer was for private dances, with the unusual pricing of $30/song or 3 for $79. No floor dances offered. Dances take place in a back room with curtained booths; each booth had a padded bench seat and a fairly obvious security camera. I went back with two different dancers; decent two-way contact, no extras offered. With the right girl, the 3 for $79 is for practical purposes $25/song and a decent value. "Private" rooms are available by the half-hour, but I wasn't interested. I'm guessing the rooms have the same cameras and the same mileage, but I can only speculate.

I had a good time with both of the dancers I spent time with. One was a fit and beautiful light-skinned AA, the other a GND type with a bubbly personality. As expected, the girl next door was more fun in the back, and also capable of showing me a fine time talking and drinking in the main room. Spent almost three hours at the club, and I would do it again on a moment's notice--Blush is a great cure for boredom.
