Saturday afternoon flops

My visits to "the Block" on Saturday afternoon May 6 had two flops and one success. The first flop was Chez Joey at which I arrived about 4pm. It is a long narrow room with the stage behind the bar like a lot of the Block clubs. I was the only customer most of the time although it looked like there had been others earlier judging by the number of dirty glasses on the bar. There were two dancers. Another girl dressed as a dancer was tending bar and I ordered a glass of orange juice for $9. She actually was spending most of her time teaching another girl in street clothes how to run the cash register. One of the dancers came over and introduced herself as Ariel. After chatting a bit she left but said she would be back. I then watched the other girl dance. She was a tall slender black girl, with unfortunately a rather plain face, who did a nicely sensual dance exposing everything. I tipped her $4 when she came around afterward. I waited awhile longer for Ariel but she didn't return and I decided to cut my losses and leave.

The second flop was a very brief visit to Red Room. This place is at the bottom of some stairs in a basement space underneath Club Pussycat. I was the only customer. One of the dancers was arguing with another employee. I walked along the bar and back and left without sitting down.

I suppose these places might be OK some time they have more dancers, whenever that is.
