With a lapse of more than a decade from the last New Orleans visit that was fueled with the effects of consuming three Hurricanes in a relatively short amount of time, the lingering and hazy memories of going from club to club on Bourbon Street and completely depleting the contents of my wallet instilled me we a sense of caution to avoid a repeat performance. This time around I ended up at the Penthouse Club, just off the Bourbon Street row. Two floors, third floor suites and three bars - this is not a a dive bar strip club. Brightly lite and the furnishings alone made was a tip-off that nothing was going to be an economical experience. Anyway a $12 cover gets you in. Dances can be had for around $40 but be prepared for a frequent amount of upsell in the patron/dancer discussions. Plenty of stage seating as well as seating more suited towards observation. Other reviews have commented that dancers are the hottest ones in New Orleans and I cannot dispute this opinion. Girls are really friendly and are polite if you decline but will move on gracefully. Not willing to do more than a private dance I'm convinced that the extras are unlikely and the bounces are there to make sure that is the case. Quoted a 30/60 minute dance for $250-$375 but hat was a bit much for an uncertain outcome. Definitely would recommend for something other than a down and dirty experience.
