Almost too comfortable

I ended up at DV8 3-4 times while in Portland for a week or so. The visits blur together a little, so this review will too. DV8 basically ended up being my perfect little dive bar in town - fairly cheap drinks, absolutely no hassle for dances unless you went asking, a couple of pool tables, some sports behind the bar, and a decent array of girls dancing any given day. I went there a couple of early evenings and a late night - seems that they had 6-ish dancers on at any given time, rotating through 2 songs each. On the late night, they opened up a 2nd stage, but essentially no guys went over to it, so the second girl would generally just sit on the rail and wait out the song while all the attention went to the main stage.

As at other clubs in Portland, you're expected to leave a dollar or two if you sit at the rail, and the girls give you a little attention in return. Dancers here were really kind of the main thing - all were pretty, some were outright hot, all were friendly. Mostly athletic bodies, and a mix of no tattoos and complete upper-body covers it seemed. Guys seem to wander off to play video poker between songs, which also means that whoever's left at the rail suddenly has their own semi-private dance while the girl makes the most of the time and a little conversation. Others largely wait for their turns at the bar with regulars. Lots of friendliness, gorgeous girls, more variety than the other clubs I went to, and a comfy little dive bar. No idea how the private dances are - girls never really suggested any, and I never saw anyone headed back that way.

Random fun bit - apparently this is also the place that old Chinese couples go late at night to play video poker in the corner, music and naked girls be damned.
