Ocean

Physically, Ocean is a great club, but it needs to up its game considerably in the girl department. I Ubered over at about 11:00 p.m. on a Tuesday from my hotel a couple of miles away (near Midway Airport). The sign was lit out front, but there were not cars I the parking lot. I thought the place was closed. I asked the driver to take me back to hotel, but he suggested driving around back first to see to see if there was another entrance. There wasn’t, but there were about a dozen cars parked on the side of the building, so there were apparently people inside.

The driver circled around to the front, and I got out and checked the front doors. They were unlocked, the lights were on, and there was a doorman standing behind the counter inside. I waved off the driver and went on in. I paid the $5 cover and went inside. This club looks spectacular.

In keeping with the “Ocean” name, it has a water theme. The main club is a large circular room. The circular main stage is surrounded by a moat. There a seats around the stage, accessed by 3 bridges over the moat at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock. At the 12 o’clock position there is a longer bridge used by the dancers to access the stage. Around the walls are large panels filed with bubbling water jets. Everything looks clean, upscale, and new. I was told the place only opened about a year ago. I would rate the club facilities a solid 10.
