Still a weak show

This place is one of the handful of sc in West LA. Its been around since around 1995 when the defunct restaurant Kelso's was turned into this bikini only club with full bar. I keep coming back every once in a while to my old haunt from long ago hoping that the good times from the 90s and 00s return. Unfortunately, even after going out of business last year and being resurrected by the guys who run a nude sc in bh/culver city, the club, while no longer dingy and depressing, leaves a lot to be desired.

The layout is an L shaped bar, lap dance couches to the right and main stage to the left. The stage as was under prior owners, is well lit so there is no question of the quality of what you're looking at. I find it a big plus not to strain your eyes to see if a wardrobe malfunction is in the making (this happens often with new dancers) This is what made this place competitive with Plan B- another bikini bar with some of the hottest girls in town- but somewhat dim lighting . That's what made FI the place, The girls were mixed on the scale but there was always extra opportunities to be had.

Had a coupon for free admission from LA Weekly. I went on a Friday night around 9 last week hoping that it wouldn't disappoint again, but it did. There were about 5-7 girls hanging out. Half of them hanging on what looked like regulars at the bar. The rest looking bored on couches and no one on stage. After downing one overpriced beer and being ignored by all the sub 5 girls I grew restless. This has happened before and I know to spur the DJ at this place to get girls dancing so I can tip and review talent. After a word with the DJ and him trying to get 2 no shows on stage I gave up and marched out- on my way to Plan B. Fantasy Island is the same as the last 4 plus times I visited (over 7 years). This place leaves me pissed and reminiscing over how good it used to be.
