Not the Same

After several years, my wife and I had a return visit to Mons Venus while in Tampa a couple of weeks ago. Wow! What's with the new lighting?! The private dance areas are now brightly illuminated - great for observing, but kind of a downer for privacy, but I guess that's the point. The positives: lots of beautiful dancers with a wide range of body types; full nude; no smoking. Negatives: the cost and the lighting. With a cover charge of $20, and $5 drinks (water or soft drinks), and $20-$30 dances. (The posted sign says the price is negotiable, but all we heard quoted was $30. I guess it depends on how crowded the bar is). On this particular Saturday night around 10 pm, the parking lot and the club was full, with very few seats to be found. The crowd was relatively young, and included 3 or 4 other women. We had a dance from a cute dancer at a cost of $30 with moderate contact, full nude. Being from Atlanta, it is a much more expensive evening than Follies. Mons has always been my go-to club when in Tampa, but the price and bright lights have changed my mind, but it seems to be as popular as ever.
