Worth a visit
Found myself in Rochester and decided to hit up the Klassy cat a couple of times. My visits were Thursday (8:30 pm – 9:30 pm) and Saturday (7 pm – 9pm). Good size parking lot, well-lit and seemed safe. Cover charge on Thursday was $4.00 or $5.00 and no cover charge when I arrived on Saturday. It appears they have shifts here with one ending and starting between 8 pm and 9 pm. Another advantage is at that time they bring all dancers on stage. Unusually this is a good way to see the lineup for the night. Unfortunately, it does not seem to work too well because on both nights I saw 4 or 5 dancers come in after the review. So, the layout of the place is like this, the entrance is on the side of the building and with no smoking in bars in NY you may have to make your way thru a pack of smokers in the door way. Walk in and large bar to your right, with seating for about 20 or so but not that many stools. Straight back from the entrance is the men’s bathroom and a dart board machine. To the left is the woman’s bathroom, a pool table, the Klassy coat lounge (VIP room) and I think another room where you can have a bachelor party. To the left is plenty of seating, not the most comfortable chairs. Long stage – I guess you would call is F shaped with two pools and plenty of front row seating. A DJ booth is tucked towards the back. No DJ during the day shift only a night. As for the bar, they seem to have a lot of specials and prices seemed reasonable, I asked for water but they don’t serve bottle water. So, I ended up with a sprite – it was about $5.00 (I need to pay more attention) it seemed cheaper than most places. They also serve food and a lot of people appeared to be eating. On Thursday, about 10 dancers, all white and on Saturday day shift had 5 dancers and night time appeared to have about 15. Again, the majority if not all white. The quality of dancers was a little better than Tally ho but not much – I would put them in the 5-7 range. Maybe one dancer bordering an 8 but never got close enough to see her. This is definitely a local’s place and the girls seemed to cling to only guys they knew. I tipped 4 or 5 on stage and none of them stopped by to thank me or see if I was interested in VIP dances. From previous visits, I know VIP dances are $20 and down in the back room - which is a curtained room with a couple of love seats and a few big chairs. Not much privacy but some. If you are in Rochester and want a place to go but this probably one of your better options but would not get your hopes up too high. Enjoy
