Adelitas should be your FIRST stop when going to TJ! I've been there at least 10 times, and even on a bad day, this place is better than any strip club in the US. I took a bunch of friends for a bachelor party last year. They had no idea what they were about to get into. When we walked in I told them to look around for a minute and meet me in the back by the tables and low stage. They all followed me straight back there, noticing all the hot Latinas in the place. When I got them to the back, I told them quite simply, "This isn't a strip club, it's a sex club. Prices are usually $50 to $60, with the occasional hottie thinking she's worth $70, plus $11 for the room for 30 min. Every girl you see in here is selling it, you just have to negotiate the price." As soon as I finished speaking, 3 guys in my group grabbed the nearest chica and took off. Within 5 minutes I was by myself enjoying a ficha and a hand rub under the table, courtesy of a little spinner named Gabriella.

How to do Adelitas properly: Drive to the border and park your car in one of the lots. I like to use the lot on the east side of the freeway, cause it means a shorter walk after you cross back into the US. No ID needed to get to Mexico, but you do need a US driver's license or passport to get back into the US. Follow the crowd and head towards the overpass if you park in the east lots, or straight back (south) if you are in the west lots. Go through the loud metal turnstiles, walk about 100 yards and go through the second turnstiles, and you're in Mexico! The cabbies are all waiting to take you whereever you want to go. Just say Adelitas. They know where it is. Local hint: as opposed to the US, Mexican cabs expect someone to ride up front. If you're by yourself, use the front seat. Cabbies don't start a meter. It's usually $5 for the ride, and a dollar tip. If I am not in a rush and it's daylight, I'll walk. However, the neighborhoods you have to walk though to get to Adelitas are not for the obvious tourist. Stick with the cab, it's safer and faster.

Once you get to Adelitas, by all means take your time! The heavy curtains serve as the front door. No cover charge, but if you look under 18 you may get carded. When you walk in there is a small dance area directly in front of the door, a long bar to the right, and another bar to the left, Seating is available all around the room. Evenings are more crowded than daytime, and on the weekends the place is absolutely packed! I suggest walking around for a bit first for a couple of reasons. #1: to see the wide variety of latina girls, and #2: to get groped. Adelitas has a wide range of girls working there, from 2 to 10+ in looks. $ amount will vary according to the hotness of the girl. I've been quoted anywhere from $30 for one dumpy, plump, unattractive chica, to $80 for a Salma Hayek photo double. If you catch the right girls on a slow night, don't be surprised to get offered a 2 for 1 at around $80. The groping reason is a personal favorite. Some of the girls are aggressive and want to get your attention. They will do this by grabbing your package. Talk about a nice way to say hello!
